News Update
WHITBY, ON (July 21, 2010) – Rob Adams, Executive Director
of Durham Mental Health Services (DMHS), acknowledged Seamless Care
Pharmacy’s generous support and partnership in an appreciation ceremony on
Wednesday, July 21.
Most recently, Seamless Care has teamed with DMHS to host a series of metabolic
syndrome screening clinics for DMHS staff and clients beginning in September
2010. The clinics will be supplemented by health education, opportunities to
be physically active, and assistance with planning and implementing action
plans for healthy living.
“Cardiovascular prevention and management is a major strategic priority for
the Central East Local Health Integration Network,” says
Rob Adams. “Seamless Care’s clinical expertise and
resources allow us to meet our clients’ needs more comprehensively. Through
partnership, we can create systems that work for health care consumers using
existing resources and without any additional costs.”
Seamless Care has also provided financial support to several DMHS community awareness
projects including a local performance by award-winning consumer stand-up
troupe Stand Up for Mental Health, an Ajax Health and Wellness Fair, and a
conference on recovery from mental illness.
“Without Seamless Care’s support, we couldn’t do these important events,”
says Rob Adams. “They are a tremendously valued partner.”
“Mental health is my passion,” says Seamless Care Chief Pharmacist Murad Younis, a
Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist. “Individuals with mental health
issues deserve effective community support. By working in partnership with
community agencies like DMHS, we get the satisfaction of knowing that our
clients with mental health issues receive effective health care.”
