June 3 – Agency Retreat and Staff Appreciation Event
DMHS full-time and management staff gathered at Oshawa and District Shrine Club on Thursday,
June 3 to learn more about the accreditation process, prepare for Accreditation Canada’s first visit, and recognize staff service.
Executive Director Rob Adams spoke about why DMHS has embarked on the accreditation process and
about some exciting agency initiatives. Accreditation consultant Heather
Metcalfe spoke about the purpose and value of accreditation and went through
what to expect when the surveyors are here from
June 14 to 16. At lunch, Board Member Kim Glover and Executive Director Rob
Adams recognized many agency staff for their
hard work and service to the agency and to Durham Region.
It was a fun and informative day, facilitated by DMHS Accreditation Coordinator Brigid Phelan. Please find attached a summary of the presentations along with photos of all the staff who were recognized this day.
